The MBA Class of 2009, in collaboration with the Poole College of Management, NC State Jenkins MBA Alumni Society, NCSU Alumni Association, and the Gregg Museum of Art & Design are hosting a 5K run in honor of Dr. Lynn Ennis; a professor with the MBA program, who unexpectedly passed away in July 2011. We invite all people - especially those of the creative, arts, education, business, and alumni community - to come out March 3, 2012 to celebrate the life of an influential teacher while supporting the Gregg Museum of Art & Design. |

She had such an enthusiasm and love of the arts, kindness and sincere interest in her students, and zeal for life that were infectious. Lynn's MBA course focused on key theoretical models to spur creativity in business for decision-making. It was a powerful and enlightening course and some of the content forever changed my perspective within my work and my personal life. I am very thankful to have known Lynn Ennis; she left a legacy at NCSU and with her students that are now all over the world.” | Kevin IdahorAbout Kevin
I graduated from Jenkins School of Management in 2009 with a concentration in Consulting. I am currently employed by Accenture as a Change Management Consultant. I had the privilege of knowing Dr. Ennis as student in her Creativity in Management course, and also as part of the New Orleans Trip. She was kind and loving. Her compassion for helping others was very inspiring and contagious. Dr. Ennis invested time and effort into her students; also provide the moral/academic support we requested. | Shelly SabhikhiAbout Shelly
Shelly completed the MBA program at NCSU with a dual concentration in Marketing and Services Consulting. She is currently employed by Accenture as an IT Strategy Consultant. “My fondest memory of Dr. Ennis was during her Creativity in Management class, where she had her students keep a creativity journal. At the time I was going through some major life changes, and recording my thoughts in a journal helped me evaluate how I really felt about certain situations, and allowing myself the freedom to creatively express my thoughts gave me the courage to get through a difficult period. I took comfort in Dr. Ennis’s encouraging comments. I also discovered a passion for creative writing and as a result, I became involved in comedy writing. Dr. Ennis unknowingly opened a whole new world for me, and for that I am grateful to have had her as a teacher.” | Carol Nguyen SteenAbout Carol
Carol completed the MBA program as a full-time student concentrating in Financial and Services Consulting Management. She now resides in Asheville, NC with her husband, Justin, and dog, Max. Carol serves as the Human Resources Manager at MAHEC, a healthcare organization. Carol remembers Dr. Ennis for her wisdom imparted on students and how they were challenged daily to look at more creative solutions to usual business problems. "Because of Dr. Ennis's influence, I journal big ideas I come across and even jot down my own as they float across my mind. One day, these big ideas will come to life because of her influence." | Jorge Parejas |
